Q: In a few sentences, tell me about yourself.


A: "I was born and reared in Winchester- Clark County. My parents are the late Joe F. and Betty Haggard Reed. I am retired school teacher from the Clark County Schools. I have recently retired from Bluegrass Community and Technical College, where I served as the Director of Advocacy and Community Relations and the Legislative Liaison. I love this community with all of my heart and will always work to improve it for all citizens."


Q: Describe yourself in three words.


A: "Faithful, Visionary, Communicator"


Q: We live in Winchester so I have to ask....are you an Ale 8 drinker?


A: "Yes"


Q: Are you a dog or cat person?


A: "Dog"


Q: What's your favorite season?


A: "Spring"


Q: How long have you lived in Winchester?


A: "Born here, reared here, plan to die here."


Q: What are you known for around town?


A: "Working diligently to raise money to build a local campus for Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) . When individuals or businesses see me coming, they grab their wallets! Hopefully also known as someone who cares deeply about our people-people of all ages and walks of life."


Q: If you work or own a business in Winchester… what is it that you do and/or what is your business?


A: " Retired as an educator for Clark County Schools, re-retired from Bluegrass Community and Technical College on August 31st."


Q: Where is your favorite place to eat in Winchester?


A: "Loma's, Broadway Cafe, Woody's & Arby's"


Q: What are some of your favorite places to go in Winchester-Clark County?


A: "Peddlers Mall, Bargains on Broadway, Court Street Gifts & Dollar Tree"


Q: In what ways are you involved in the community?


A: "Serving as Mayor for the City of Winchester, Board Member for Hospice East, serve on Administrative Board at First Christian Church, Chair Pastoral Relations Committee, serve as Elder, Member-Clark Regional Medical Center Patient Family Advisory Council, Member of Regional Opportunity Council for BCTC, City Committees: Public Works, Revenue Sharing (joint with county), EMS Committee (joint with county). "


Q: What, in your opinion, makes Winchester-Clark County a unique or special place to live?


A: "Winchester-Clark County is special to me because of our people. They are our best asset. This community always responds to the needs and the concerns of our citizens. People are our greatest resource."


Q: If you were going to introduce someone to Winchester-Clark County for the first time, what places, faces or activities would you tell them not to miss?


A: "Ale-8 (tour & taste), Bargains on Broadway, Loma's, Beer Cheese Festival, Pioneer Festival, Moonlight Movie Night, Rock the Block, Bluegrass Heritage Museum AND the list goes on and on."
