Hi, I’m Michelle, and I love Kentucky living! I am a mom to two beautiful girls who are eight years apart. I am a lifelong Central Kentucky resident and have lived in Winchester, Kentucky since 2001. My house can be a bit of a zoo sometimes with my husband, Dean, daughter, Dakota who is a freshman at BCTC with plans to attend USF in Tampa in the fall and our three dogs Kaci, Maggie, and Louie, and three cats, Josie, Boogie, and Buddy. Our oldest daughter Hollie bought her childhood home from us and we bought a bigger house literally across the street. She also works side-by-side with me along with my sister Crissy.
I discovered a passion for real estate sales while working on Picture Perfect Homes ads in the Homes section at the Lexington Herald-Leader back in the late 90s and decided to embark on a career in real estate not long thereafter. I haven’t looked back.
And while the rest of the world hates Mondays, I love them! It gives me a fresh slate for the week. I’m ambitious and I make an effort to encourage others by showing them you can change your situation or circumstances. I try to look for the positives in everything I do.
In my free time, you might find me floating in the pool, kayaking, playing with my animals, or maybe driving the country backroads listening to music, or embarking on the never-ending projects of remodeling an older home.
I love to help others and to support my community. I give a portion of every closing commission back to local and national charities, including the UK Children’s Hospital through CMN, on behalf of my clients. I am a former Girl Scout troop leader for many years, a current Kiwanis Club member, a member of the Friends of Parks and Rec 5013c board, a member of the Clark County Activity Coalition as well as a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
My passion has led me to create this blog, Why Winchester, to share my love of this community and spotlight members of this little town I call home.

I am a huge animal lover and pit bull advocate and mine is more spoiled than a child! I enjoy doing yoga, I’m Taylor Swift’s biggest fan, and in my spare time you can find me baking or binge watching a tv show. I’m a home body and winter and snow are my favorite. My mother and I may look alike but we are complete opposites in many ways. I am the paper pusher of the trio. I handle all transaction management behind the scenes and fill in occasionally when my mom is out-of-town or double booked.
Crissy Wilburn, Client Care Coordinator
I have been married to my husband Roger for 20 years. My daughter Kaly is a sophomore at EKU and my son Tylan is a sophomore at GRC High School. I love watching him play football. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family by going out to dinner or making memories going places together. I am the organized one of the trio making sure Michelle gets everything done!
